In some strange situation, you may get an error related with the user group while creating a user under your WHM server. Here is the solution for that, see the error details pasted below:
Error:
cPanel/WHM Error: Sorry, a group for that username already exists.
Account Creation Status: failed
Solution:
Check the ‘passwd‘ and ‘group‘ file under the directory etc and confirm the username is not there. Do follow the below pasted steps;
Step I : SSH to your server as root.
Step II : Change the directory to ‘/etc‘
Step III : Check ‘passwd‘ and ‘group‘ file.
You may cross check the user and remove the entry from that file to solve the issue. Then, try to create the user.
